Matthew’s Reach

A Program Supporting Men’s Mental Health

Concussion and Head Injury

The risk of concussion and its long-term effects, such as post-concussion syndrome, second impact syndrome (SIS), and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), is a growing concern - particularly in contact sports and workplaces prone to such injuries.

When someone experiences multiple concussions, particularly during childhood and adolescence when the brain is developing, the damage can compound, increasing the likelihood of significant cognitive, emotional, psychological, and physical impairments.

Matthew’s Reach is dedicated to supporting men affected by concussion-related challenges and raising awareness about the profound impact these injuries can have on a man’s ongoing health, overall well-being, and daily functioning.
